Lois Hole - A life of Giving
St. Albert, Alberta - In December, Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien named Lois Hole of St. Albert as the new Lieutenant-Governor in the Province of Alberta. She assumes the post in early 2000. The Lieutenant-Governor is the representative of the Queen in Alberta and also serves as the Chief Executive officer of the Province.

Los Angeles - Watching Monika Schloder as she teaches is a tiring experience. She jumps, she skips, she runs, she waves her arms, she uses dramatics. This 58-year old athlete, a former West German elite swimmer, is at Los Angeles Southwest College. She has come here every summer since 1992 from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where she is a professor in Sport Sociology at the University of Calgary.
